Vibration isolation performance analysis of a bilateral supported bio-inspired anti-vibration control system

Abstract To achieve better anti-vibration performance in a low frequency region and expand the range of vibration isolation, bilateral supported bio-inspired (BBAV) structure composed purely linear elements is proposed, inspired by motion form bird legs nonlinear extension compression muscles tendons. The kinematic relations dynamic model considering vertical rotational vibrations are established. loading capacity equivalent stiffness investigated with key parameters. amplitude-frequency characteristics force transmissibility used to evaluate stability effects excitation amplitude, rod length, installation angle, spring stiffness. results show that requirements resonant BBAV adjustable, superior isolation can be achieved readily tuning X-shaped sensitive stiffness, which exhibits wider bandwidth smaller Besides, depending on parameters, behavior system interconverted between softening type hardening type. theoretical analysis this study demonstrates advantages effectiveness structure.
